Европа против войны

Старший научный сотрудник The Brookings Institution и Французского института международных отношений Павел Баев считает, что данные вышеупомянутого опроса не должны добавлять тревоги странам Балтии, поскольку результат исследования отражает лишь факт – европейцы не хотят войны и не хотят принимать решений, связанных с войной. «Но даже такое отношение не может подорвать приверженность остановить российскую агрессию всеми необходимыми средствами», – уверен он.

По его словам, стоит лишь вспомнить массовый сдвиг общественного мнения в Европе в прошлом году, который повлекла за собой трагедия с рейсом МН 17. В этой связи, если рассматривать гипотетический сценарий возможного движения российских войск через границы прибалтийских стран, такое событие, «несомненно, принесет гораздо более сильную реакцию».

По словам Баева, специфическое развертывание российских «зеленых человечков» в Крыму стало для НАТО предупреждением.

В частности, относительно того, что военные вызовы могут быть «не совсем» военными. «Эстония и в меньшей степени Латвия подвергаются воздействию России и прилагают все усилия, чтобы найти правильные ответы на эти вызовы. По моему убеждению, Москва не будет стремиться повторить подобную операцию в Прибалтике только потому, что не имеет возможности ведения двух гибридных войн одновременно. И она очень глубоко застряла в трясине Донбасса», – считает эксперт.

Помимо этого, Россия не имеет качественного военного превосходства в Балтийском регионе, поэтому не пойдет на серьезную наступательную операцию. В этой связи, скорее, следует ожидать различных провокаций, стремящихся заставить НАТО нервничать и держать в готовности свои силы в этом регионе.

О том, что идея воевать за пределами территории своей страны в общественном мнении любых стран всегда непопулярна говорит и научный директор Института евроатлантического сотрудничества Александр Сушко: «Она непопулярна даже в том случае, если идет в разрез с международными обязательствами соответствующей страны. Особенно это касается Европы, которая очень дорого заплатила за мир после столетий войн, поэтому пацифистские настроения в Европе широко распространены, и это факт», – уверен эксперт.

Причем пацифизм европейцев касается не только агрессии России, но вообще любых военно-политических действий. А результаты вышеупомянутого исследования хоть и являются тревожным сигналом, но не открывают чего-то нового. По мнению эксперта, приблизительной так население европейских стран реагировало бы на подобные опросы и пять, и десять лет назад.
